The Osun Independent Electoral Commission has said it would be meeting representatives of all registered political parties and deliberate on the plan to conduct local government elections in the state.
This was contained in a statement titled, ‘OSIEC holds parley meeting with political parties ahead of LG poll,’ signed by the chairman of the Commission, Mr. Segun Oladitan, obtained in Osogbo on Thursday.
Oladitan expressed hope that the meeting scheduled to hold at OSIEC office in Osogbo would be attended by the parties.
“The essence of the meeting is to rob minds together with the political parties in respect of the forthcoming Local Government Election in the state.
“The meeting which is slated to hold at the Conference Hall of the Commission along old Ikirun Road, is expected to have all the political parties adequately represented,” the statement read in parts.
The OSIEC boss then reaffirmed commitment to conduct a Local Council Election that would be acceptable to all.
