Bankers and financiers across the country will, among other things, engage in discussions on how to reposition the banking sector at the Annual Banking and Finance Conference set to hold next month in Abuja.

The Chairman, Consultative Committee of the 15th Annual Banking & Finance Conference, Abubakar Suleiman, stated this on Friday at a pre-conference media parley on the main event scheduled for September.

The conference is an annual event and a large gathering of banking and finance professionals in Nigeria and Africa, with an estimated audience of 10,000 comprising professionals, policymakers, regulators, members of the academia, operators, and other stakeholders in the financial services industry.

Addressing journalists, the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Sterling Bank Plc, Abubakar Suleiman, said this year’s edition of the conference would shift the paradigm from the emphasis of the previous conferences.

The conference is expected to unfurl ongoing research findings on ‘Analysis of human capital attrition in a global context: A case study of the financial services industry’, and would be shared for information of stakeholders and a value addition to the 15th ABFC.

He said, “The objective of the conference is to, among others, provide a veritable platform for subject matter experts and industry stakeholders to drive conversations and unanimously design a clear road map towards repositioning the financial services industry for growth and stability.”

Unlike the last two editions of the conference, there would be one physical location for this year’s conference in Abuja.
